International Phone Plans

MobiMatter

We used MobiMatter app to buy eSIMGo 12.60 for 10GB which last for a month to use. It worked fine most the time and for the 2.5 weeks we were traveling France and Italy. We only ended up using 5GB, but it was nice to know we didn't pay a lot!

Montyesim

To diversify (just in case one failed) we also used Montyesim which was 11.88 for 10GB. Setup was easy like MobiMatter and it seemed to use the same carriers, which is probably why the price was almost the same. It sounds like this one was owned by a company in UK while MobiMatter was from the middle east. There was one instance where Montyesim worked better than MobiMatter, so I would recommend them more at this time.

Google Fi

We have also used Google Fi abroad in Japan and South East Asia. It was nice to not have to worry about switching services or turning on and off things like other eSIM solutions, but the price technically was more if you don't already have the phone service as your main carrier, which we no longer have, so we don't use it anymore during travel. Some areas were also spotty like in Indonesia, where I had hardly any connection.
